Why DNS is inconsistent?

DNS inconsistency with residential or unlimited proxies typically stems from four common, resolvable factors—rooted in network dynamics and proxy usage scenarios. Understanding these helps maintain stable, reliable proxy connections.

Key Causes & Solutions
  • IP Pool Rotation: Our residential proxies dynamically switch IPs; temporary DNS cache mismatches may occur. Fix: Clear local DNS cache (run ipconfig /flushdns on Windows or sudo dscacheutil -flushcache on Mac).
  • Network Routing Delays: Intermittent ISP or proxy server routing issues can disrupt DNS resolution. Solution: Switch to our optimized DNS servers (8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1) in proxy settings.
  • Device/Software Conflicts: VPNs or antivirus tools may interfere with DNS. Fix: Disable conflicting apps temporarily or whitelist our proxy servers.
  • Regional DNS Discrepancies: Target region DNS servers may have latency. Solution: Select proxy IPs closer to your target region in your account dashboard.
