What is the difference between the types of whitelist?

Our residential and unlimited proxies offer three core whitelist types, with key differences in authorization scope, flexibility, and use cases—tailored to meet diverse user needs while ensuring proxy security.

Core Whitelist Types & Differences
  • IP Whitelist: Authorizes specific single IPs (e.g., your office/device public IP). Ideal for individual users or small teams needing fixed-access control; requires updating if your IP changes.
  • IP Range Whitelist: Covers a range of IPs (e.g., 192.168.1.1–192.168.1.100). Suits large teams or offices with dynamic IPs, avoiding frequent re-authorization.
  • Device Whitelist: Binds to device identifiers (MAC address/device ID) instead of IPs. Perfect for on-the-go users (e.g., mobile workers) who switch networks often, ensuring seamless access without IP updates.

All whitelists work with our proxy protocols (HTTP/HTTPS/SOCKS5) and unlimited traffic plans, balancing security and convenience.
